Default A Tale of Two Skills

Well I was looking through the new non-elite skills from this PvE and two of them stood out. One for how it might fit perfectly into a curses build, and the other because I'm not sure what I could use it for. Here they are:

This seems like a perfect compliment to Spiteful Spirit + Price of Failure. I could see this as a great way to take down PvE mobs/bosses. It may have less utility in PvP if the target is aware of the hex damage.

This I'm unsure of what to use it on. At 16 Death I was able to do 120 damage to all the monsters in the area of the hex, but so what? I have to wait 30 seconds before I can recast. Maybe it's a nice covering hex? However, if it were recastable at say 20 seconds then we might have something, but as it stands I can think of any number of skills I'd rather have on the bar over this one.

Comments? Ideas?

i like reckless haste. i think it could pretty well take care of two or more warriors attacking one target. 12 gave 43% chance to miss i think.

i'm still looking at rising bile. with death magic high if you can remove this hex prematurely it could be nice aoe damage.

Reckless Haste is going to be lots of fun. Rising Bile, I don't know yet. 30 seconds is awfully long, most things are dead by then. Maybe on bosses... but still that will only be 60 damage.

I really thought of Rising Bile as a prep. While everyone else is starting the battle with the high damage ouput, you lay down mines.

It will force opposing monks to make a choice. They can spend time and energy now to remove the hex with minimal damage or ignore it as it grows to more and more damage. Just too bad Shatter Delusions won't touch it!

What about a rising bile spike?

4 N/me's with high death magic and soul reaping, using these skills at start:
arcane echo
rising bile
parasitic bond
<tab to some1 that isn't hexed>
rising bile
parasitic bond

1 of them spams tainted the rest spams cover hexes and discord (elite) randomly (if you kill some1 the spike fails) after they hexed everyone.

3 N/mo's as healers and a r/rt spirit spammer (like in the blood spike build) with destruction

result: everybody in the area of 3 other persons would die (the spirit counts as a person).
